German engine manufacturer MAN Energy Solutions has been selected by Malaysia’s Yinson to deliver a total of 11 compressor trains for a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel off Angola.
The Azule Energy-operated FPSO vessel is due to be deployed at the Agogo field in Angola Block 15/06 at a water depth of around 1,650m off the Angolan coast.
Under the contract MAN Energy will deliver nine centrifugal compressor trains for gas production, gas injection, as well as gas lift and export, as well as two electrically driven SKUEL510 screw-compressor trains to be used as low pressure compression units.
Of the nine compressor trains, three trains will feature type RB 45 compressors as medium-pressure systems; three trains with type RB 35 compressors as high-pressure units; and a further three trains with two type RB 28 compressors.
MAN Energy Solutions sales & project management senior vice-president Basil Zweifel said: “MAN Energy Solutions is very much looking forward to working with Yinson on this large-scale project for Angola’s growing energy market in which we will play an active role by providing our technology and expertise.”
MAN plans to make ready all the compressor trains during 2024.
Earlier this year, Azule Energy awarded a contract, which has an aggregate value of approximately $5.3bn, to Yinson for the operation and maintenance of an FPSO vessel for the Agogo Integrated West Hub Development Project.
The contract has a firm period of 15 years, with the option to extend for five additional years.
Currently, two FPSOs are operational at the Agogo field, which was discovered in 2019. A third FPSO with a daily production capacity of up to 120,000 barrels of oil equivalent is planned to be deployed there.
